Since 2002, our group has helped kids improve their reading by allowing them to read to dogs in a calm environment. This is the first program of its kind in Mid-Michigan, taking place in schools, libraries, and by invitation. Every child in the Tale-Waggers™ program gets a free book after a 4-week session. Over $1200 worth of books have been given to local children.

Since 2008, the dedicated members of the Mt. Pleasant Kennel Club have proudly participated in Grandparents University at Central Michigan University. This enriching summer camp experience provides grandparents and their grandchildren an opportunity to bond over three fun-filled days of engaging activities on campus. The MPMKC class, titled "Paws in Action," highlights a variety of exciting dog sports while also demonstrating the many wonderful ways that dogs enhance our lives and bring joy to our experiences together.

Parades are a beloved tradition for Kennel Club members to show their love for dogs. Walking with their dogs, they entertain crowds, teach people about different breeds, and build friendships. Parades celebrate the unique bond between humans and dogs and highlight the benefits of having dogs in communities.

The M&M Cluster—comprises the Mount Pleasant, Michigan Kennel Club, as well as the Midland Kennel Club. Over the course of four exciting days of showcasing, participants and spectators alike have a truly sweet deal! Dogs that are registered with the American Kennel Club have the opportunity to enter a variety of competitions, including conformation, junior showmanship, obedience, rally, and fast cat events, all taking place at the Midland County Fairgrounds located in Midland, Michigan. The public is warmly invited to come and attend this wonderful event! It is important to note that dogs not entered in the shows or trials are not permitted on the premises.
